
Company Management:
Jay M. Adler has 20 years experience in investment banking, corporate mergers and acquisitions, business sales and multi-unit franchise transaction management. Prior to forming Adler & Company, Jay served as Managing Director for Unison Capital Group, a member firm of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and a registered securities broker/dealer with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Jay managed the firm’s Merger and Acquisition practice that completed numerous sale transactions, appraisals and consulting assignments for the principals of companies in a broad range of industries.
Prior to joining Unison Capital Group, Jay served as President of a regional franchise development company in Chicago, and as Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for a public consolidator in the retail photographic and franchise businesses, where he participated in acquiring 49 competing firms, sold over 60 franchised businesses and participated in the private placement of $20 million in subordinated convertible notes and senior debt for his company.
Jay received a BS in Business Administration from Cal State, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected Student Body President. He received his MBA in Corporate Finance from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He held an NASD series 62 license as a Corporate Securities Representative and a series 63 Uniform Securities Agent license. Jay is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) through the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and holds the Senior Business Analyst (SBA) designation through Business Evaluation Systems.
Corey T. Martin, Director of Operations, is responsible for developing new client relationships, establishing deal flow and facilitating relationships and transactions between clients and the companies Adler & Co. sources. Corey has 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, including relationship management, business development, operations management, analysis, transactions and project management.
Prior to joining Adler and Company, Corey worked with Institutional financial clients, consulting on operations, retirement plan design, sales and business development and project management. Corey has worked with Lincoln Trust Company, Northwestern Mutual, Great-West Retirement Services, and The Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado.
Corey received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Marketing from The University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business in 2000, and is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA Program at The University of Colorado beginning in the fall of 2011.
Kate Maloney, Ph.D., Vice President of Marketing, is a corporate psychologist with ten years experience in management, securities trading and teaching at the university level.
Prior to joining Adler & Company, Kate founded a technology service company that provides online small business and marketing solutions primarily to health care companies. Before that, Kate ran a private management consulting practice and served as the Director of Development for the Integral Institute, a Boulder, CO based think-tank. Kate has served as an affiliate faculty member at Regis University and has volunteered across the country as a senior course supervisor for Landmark Education. Kate holds a doctorate degree in Organizational Psychology, with an emphasis in business / financial applications of psychology with B.A. degrees in Psychology and Communications.
Angela Troupe, Office Manager, is a professional office manager with 7 years experience in managing offices for various companies, including start-ups and more established firms. She specializes in managing the day-to-day operations for a number of clients in a shared office environment. Angela manages of all aspects of our office services, telephone reception and administrative work.
Before working in office management, Angela worked in hospitality, where she focused on hotel operations and training for large hotel chains, including Marriott International, Inc., where she was responsible for training international exchange students and working with underperforming hotels.
